The Real-Time Custom ASCII Generator is an interactive web-based design tool that converts images, videos, or live-feed camera inputs into highly customizable, real-time ASCII art. Developed as the first release in a personal suite of experimental interactive design tools, this project merges nostalgia with modern creative technology.

Inspired by the iconic, low-fi design language of the retro Gameboy Camera, I designed the tool's entire visual ecosystem and user interface. Beyond standard text conversion, the application gives users complete parametric control over contrast, density, and scaling, while allowing them to draw and upload their own custom symbols.

The development pipeline was a hybrid process—starting with hand-drawn visual sketches and digital UI mockups, and built using Google AI Studio to assist in translating complex rendering algorithms into a seamless, high-performance web experience.
