Mars & Siv in "No Vacancy" Pilot Episode

Co-directed and co-produced by Studio Snap and Runway Studios, Mars & Siv: No Vacancy is a futuristic dystopian noir pilot that redefines the intersection of physical, digital, and generative animation.
 

Rather than relying on standard generative outputs, we designed a highly controlled, hybrid mixed-media pipeline. The environments were built using a combination of physical miniature set designs and 3D layouts blocked in Cinema 4D, which were then textured and rendered using custom Runway Gen-3 and Gen-4 models.
 

The character pipeline was equally tactile: characters were first hand-drawn in 2D, then animated using generative models. We then systematically chopped, deconstructed, and re-compiled those digital frames to build custom stop-motion animations, injecting a gritty, organic, physical imperfection back into a cutting-edge technological workflow.
